ROBERT PRYKE

Managing Associate

Robert has over two decades experience working in the criminal justice system. Having worked for fifteen years at the Criminal Appeal Office, assisting and advising the Judges of the Court of Appeal Criminal Division, he is a lawyer with a unique understanding of criminal appeals. Not only does he have an unmatched knowledge of the appeals procedure but he is also able to identify those grounds of appeal that are likely to find favour with the Court. His eye for detail has resulted in him identifying points of law and fact which have resulted in convictions being quashed and sentences varied.

Prior to his time at the Court of Appeal, Robert worked for a firm of leading London criminal defence solicitors specialising in serious fraud but encompassing the full range of criminal offences including murder, sexual offences, money laundering, high value theft through to driving offences before the Magistrates Court.

Robert has a thorough knowledge of the proceeds of crime regime and has represented clients in confiscation proceedings and those whose assets have been restrained.

In addition, Robert has acted for clients in both extradition and deportation proceedings, appearing before the First-tier tribunal to successfully oppose the deportation of a client convicted of serious money laundering offences. He has represented the interests of clients in coroner’s inquests. He also has experience of regulatory law having acted for private hire vehicle operators subject to Public Carriage Office regulation.
