Nicola studied at Harvard and the London School of Economics and practised at the English independent Bar for nine years before joining Grosvenor Law.
Nicola specialises in commercial litigation and employment law. She has a particular expertise in advising and acting in proceedings arising from corporate insolvency and breakdown and regulatory investigation. She appeared regularly in the High Court for companies, insolvency practitioners and former directors, in proceedings ranging from professional negligence claims against professional advisors to complex asset recovery cases.
In employment cases Nicola has acted for employees and employers in the Employment Tribunal, the Employment Appeals Tribunal and in the High Court. She has advised on the full range of employment issues including unlawful deductions from wages; discrimination on sex, maternity, disability and race grounds; unfair and wrongful dismissal (including misconduct and redundancy); injunctions and restrictive covenants/restraint of trade; company transfers of undertakings and small/medium scale redundancy events. She has experience of both liability and quantum proceedings.
Nicola has been instructed in high-value cross-border disputes in the Bahamas, where she is a member of the Bahamian Bar, and in commercial Privy Council proceedings. Nicola is a member of INSOL and speaks French and Swiss-German.
